edumacation- day blank

Yes its time to be educated, People, we all understand that Pakistan is going through a very odd time, notice i dont use the word tough. Tough was lets say about 8 years back when we had alot of buffoons running the country. But in this turmoil and state of emergency one tends to overlook the major problem faced by our country and that is education.
First of all let me burst everyones bubbles, there is no QUICK FIX available to resolve our countries problem. If we need to take a stand it has to be for the term "EDUCATION". Forget the protests, the violence, the blatant disregard of respect. Its just education. I consider education the key to help our country develop a democracy.
A democracy people can understand, the layman in our country can not differentiate between a democracy and a dictatorship just because of the sole reason that there is a lack of education.
If some politicians or so to say well wishers of the country get there acts together and perhaps start developing even a basic structure i can see a difference in our futures.
The television is NOT an educational tool, presently its biased and well has a disregard for many things. In my opinion if the television was a little more focused at the problems in hand life would be a little less confusing for our masses.
So what can we do? Well its up to you all to decide. If anyone wants to share there important input with me please feel free to email me. But i would suggest lets all stop sitting on our asses and start doing something on our own accords and lets see how it actually impacts the future of our lovely and lost nation. Save the cheerleader, save the world? No, Teach the cheerleader to read and let her save the world.
And by education i don't mean teach the philosphy, etc etc, i would say teach them about life, teach them vocational skills teach them the basics and well than we can go in further. But guys its all up to us now so you decide.

I hope u didn't pick this shit up from those Dawn TV ads. Nigga quit stating the obvious - tell us your plan?? We all know what you'd like to be teaching the cheerleader! Don't think she'll be saving any world after that.

ok.. this is going to be a long one, but i shall try to keep it short.. first there is a major disjuncture (read progression) between your previous blog and this one. good to see your opinions are evolving. first, you HAVE to understand that there is an analytical difference between a 'dictator' and an 'elected representative'. Now the most classical argument thrown in this fashion is that if not mush then who? both the other two are corrupt. i will not deny that. but will only suggest that you read up on how corrupt the army really is and try and add up the assets that they have in terms of land and corporations and budgetary concessions (ayesha siddiqa has a good book on it). atleast we can take BB and NS to task, but whose going to be able to take the military to task? on the smallest of issue of asking them to appear in courts has created an outlash, and mush, in his speech, even mentioned that its disgraceful to have military officials appear in court.. (because they are god sent i assume).. go figure!!

Things evolve and move in progression through a dialectical process.. what has happened now is nothing but regression. On your current point, Education you say is the vanguard of change, and i agree. my point being that don't view education in isolation as just an economic end. i mean you say that people don't vote intelligently because they are not educated.. but by simply teaching them to sew or knit or hammer or plumb will not serve the idea of inculcating a sense of political being. education has to be more expansive (not necessarily philosophy, but founded in other absic disciplines). economic growth can be achieved in several ways, but thats the very problem. we are too hung up on growth as opposed to economic development. (many arguments for this, will not discuss them here). but move ahead with a vision and an idea of what kind of change are you aiming at. will assist in devising a strategy on how to achieve that. we are an apathetic lot, and very unwilling to budge from our comfort zones. all of us who did community service in the past did it more so for college admissions.. and thats the truth. but then change has to be induced and i suppose people learn through watching others taking a stance.
so as ashail said.. if you got a plan, lets hear it!! and make sure you move on it.

Hey adnan, great post, the most informative one i have actually ever gotten to read. As far as the plan is concerned, i have many, its the execution bits etc which are the problem. I will dish it out to everyone in the days to come and well if anyone wants things to authentically move on than they also have to take an avid interest in it. As you and i both know its not a one man job;).
