Assasinations, weddings & the hunt for milk, bread and water! - Part 3 - Oh yeah and Ciggarettes!

I felt like i was walking the streets of resident evil, newspapers flying everywhere, broken glass on the street burnt up cars and no soul on the road, i decided lets go find some smokes and guess what couldnt find crap. Lets get a coke, guess what couldn't find that, Tried to get milk, bread, water NOTHING was available. The death of a supposed martyr destroyed the countries infrastructure to the extreme. I have always been known to hook people up with whatever they needed but for the first time in my life. I couldnt even get some drinking coke. It was hideous, i felt like i was in the middle of a warzone. What does one do when the city you live in and love is going through this attrocious phase. You watch you city bleed and you cant do anything to fix it up. One man cant do alot, but one man can try. So whoever thinks they can. Please RISE, please speak up and please try to make some sort of a difference. Its sad how vendors just overpriced everything. But kudos to the people who didnt, support was definitely there. People stopped other people from driving into warzone marked locations, people were supportive. If the masses are supportive, if the people of this country are supportive. Who caused all this chaos? Well i have insight on a very basic scale but lets try not to make this political.
Solutions were not at all provided to the people of the city. We were jailed within our houses. Luckily electricity did not fail us as much as we expected but at the end of the day there was nothing else. But a handful of people gave me hope. They made me understand that there is still some hope left in this amazingly beautiful hellhole of ours. I would like to give them all a shout out. Thank you for helping the people around you, thank you for your support. The news channels behaved and well they were quite positive this time around. Kudos to them as well. Especially dawn news, thats some pretty good work guys keep it up. The city has a negativity surrounding it its time to blow away this cloud of uncertainty and rise like the a phoenix! Karachi will rise and everyone out there will make it happen. Welcome to the new year karachi this is actually your time!

Assasinations, weddings & the hunt for milk, bread and water! - Part 2

Amidst all this chaos, while people were stranded on the roads, without access to the outside world since phone lines were down. Weddings still had to happen, i was actually a part of a great wedding. A close friends wedding where she had about 24 guests flying in from london, india, ukraine and brazil. How was this going to actually happen considering the groom and his friends arrived the morning after Benazirs death? Well it happened and it was rockin' the father of the bride was king on this momentous occasion, security was arranged for, guest houses were arranged for transport was looked after and well the booze intake was definitely going to go into overdrive.
We all partied non stop from dusk till dawn, we derived our own pleasurable insanity from the chaotic insanity that was taking place in the outside city. What did the guests have to say? They loved it!! They actually understood that the news is just completely outrageous and just blows things out of proportion as compared to what was truly happening within the country. Yes we sheltered them but come on the city was not as bad as they showed on the foreign news channels. And fox news, im sorry to say has some major racial and religious issues, they just talk utter crap and they should just be pulled off air. We met some great people during this wedding, it was a breath of fresh air, they loved the city, and im hoping they loved the people, we had the mayun, a chaotic and confusing nikkah ceremony, a rocking insane party at a prestigious restraunt which gave a beautiful view of karachi to our guests, than a beautiful mehndi and beautiful shadi. Was everyone in over drive? Hell yeah, everyone was on utter and insane overdrive but trust you me it was well worth it! Oh yeah and if anyone from the outside world is reading this, im taking everyone up on there invitations and will definitely be flying to your locations to party like the madmen us pakistanis are.
Oh yeah and to top it all off, our amazing guests pulled off one of the best choreographed dances i had ever scene heh. they actually made us want to crawl back into the hole we came from. I'm attaching the video on the blog for all eyes to see :)

Assasinations, weddings & the hunt for milk, bread and water! - Part 1

As we all know one very popular lady was assassinated a couple of days back. Thus the city came to an utter standstill, after which utter chaos ensued. Ridiculous to the extreme was the aftermath,
from cars being burnt, people being killed on the roads, shops being looted. My question is who actually profits from this? Well first of all not the PPP, secondly not the masses, and well at the end of the day the entire country came to a stand still. It was just beyond insanity. I understand the poor lady was assasinated but for christs sake people why destroy your own country because of the death of a corrupted icon. Is this what our country stands for? Are we actually asking for another country to come in and keep the peace and just destroy everything our country stands for? I think if this chaos is not managed that will wind up being the case and well Iraq will be relived in my opinion in 5-6 years in Pakistan which we all really don't want. So what next? For the first time in my life i really don't know. So if anyone would like to shed some light on the topic great. Its time the pakistani's pull out of this rut of extreme insanity and someone needs to take a stand in order to show the masses the right path. Is it one of us? Could it be one of us? Lets just hope....part 2 next!
